A man’s body has been found by the A299 Thanet Way

Emergency services were called to the Thanet Way at the St Nicholas roundabout

Emergency services discovered a man’s body on land off the A299 Thanet Way this morning (December 18).

Some eight police cars plus forensics, fire engines and ambulance vehicles were called to the road between the St Nicholas At Wade and Monkton roundabouts, Ramsgate exit (by Thanet Earth turn off) at around 11am.

A police search for a 33-year-old man who was reported missing from Ramsgate yesterday evening (18 December) led to the recovery of the body.

Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, the next of kin of the missing man have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.

The A299 Canterbury Road West  between A28 Canterbury Road and A253 has been reopened.
