A man arrested in Cliftonville murder investigation has been released without charge

A 54-year-old man arrested as part of a murder investigation has been released without charge.

The man from Margate was arrested on Monday (3 July) shortly after the discovery of a man’s body at a private  address in Ethelbert Terrace, Cliftonville. Officers taped off the alleyway and forensic investigators were in the garden and a flat of a property off the alley, which fronts on to Ethelbert Terrace.

A 35-year-old man has been released pending further enquiries and a  24-year-old man currently remains in police custody. Both men are from Margate.

Police were still at the scene yesterday (July 4).

The arrested men and victim were believed to be known to each other and enquiries into the death continue.
