A fashion outlet will open inside Ramsgate's Poundland

Poundland has confirmed it will open a fashion outlet in its Ramsgate town centre store before Easter.

The PEP&CO shop within a shop will be one of 150 outlets opening  over the next 12 months.

The move, which will  double the availability of PEP&CO in its stores will begin on 1 February with openings in the UK, and roll to Ireland before Easter.

The expansion – which will put Poundland’s PEP&CO brand in over 300 locations by the end of the year –comes just days after the retailer secured new loan funding to maintain its ambitious investment plans.

Poundland say if expected volume sales are met, the company, thanks to PEP&CO, is set to be in the top 15 clothing retailers by volume alongside or ahead of the likes of River Island, Top Man, Asos and Peacocks.

In the UK, prices at PEP&CO start at £1 and 95 per cent of the range is £10 or under – and the firm says it  expects to keep quality high and prices low as it builds a business of real scale and volume.

PEP&CO managing director Adrian Mountford said: “This Christmas we sold over a million more items than we did in our whole first year of trading from standalone stores.

“Thanks to our partnership with Poundland – and now Dealz in the Republic of Ireland – we’re set to double in size over the coming year, helping us to drive economies of scale to keep prices low, helping make Poundland an increasingly popular new fashion destination.”
