St Peter-in-Thanet juniors to represent Thanet after winning John Curran Cup

St Peter in Thanet Junior School football team will represent Thanet at the county finals after winning the John Curran Cup for the second time.

Last Friday 21 schools entered and competed in 5 regional group stages. Year 6 St Peter’s won their group with a perfect record to qualify for the finals.

The finals were held at Margate FC and organised by Thanet Passport.

St Peter’s defeated Upton, St Nicholas and Ramsgate Holy Trinity, losing only to St George’s to win the cup for the second time in two years.

This mean St Peter’s qualify for the county finals held in London this Januaryand will represent Thanet schools.

St Peter’s PE teacher Dan Allen said: “The team are so determined. Every single pupil works so hard and train weekly as part of our talented Football Squad Club and it’s so rewarding as a PE teacher to see it pay off like this.”
