Fire crews attend field blaze in Ramsgate

The blaze destroyed approximately two hectares of the field Photo Steven Obbard

Kent Fire and Rescue crews were called to a field fire off Prestedge Avenue in Ramsgate during the early hours of this morning (August 31).

Four fire engines attended the scene at 2.59am and crews used hose reel jets and wildfire equipment to extinguish the flames which destroyed approximately two hectares of the field.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.

Crews finished at the scene at 4.54am.

      As I was still up that I blaze had me checking all over my house in the early hours because of he drifting smell even though I live noear the station – windows open and all that.
      I guess that wasn’t in anyway ‘accidental’. Morons..

      • Anyone with half a brain knows that fields do not catch alight at 2 in the morning without good reason, either accidental or arson.
