A search was carried out of the water at the Western Undercliff in Ramsgate last night (August 2) following a report of a woman in the water.
Ramsgate RNLI was launched at just before 11pm and a search was carried out with the inshore lifeboat, Coastguard mobile unit and helicopter and police.
The woman was eventually found by the Coastguard mobile unit and the rescue was stood down at 11.25pm.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 10.33pm on Friday 2 August to a report of a woman in the sea near the Westcliff promenade in Ramsgate.
“Officers attended the scene with H.M Coastguard and the woman was located on a nearby beach. She passed into the care of health professionals.”
