Traffic backed up on A256 due to crash

Traffic was at a standstill on the A256 Ramsgate Road at the Ebbsfleet roundabout following a collision this afternoon (May 22).

The road was partially blocked. Two vehicles are understood were involved in the collision at the roundabout.

Traffic was backing up as far as the Sevenscore roundabout.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a two-car collision on the A256 near the Ebbsfleet Roundabout at 5.10pm.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The road was closed while the incident was responded to but reopened shortly before 7pm.”

One person was assessed and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

      • A whole host of things would be solved in life if people acted responsibly, but in the absence of that happening, seeing as this location seems to have more than its share of collisions ( and as it’s unlikely that particularly poor drivers choose to only drive badly at this location) then it would seem sensible for the road layout, visibility splays, accident reports etc to be reviewed and measures put in place to try to reduce the number of incidents going forward.

  1. Am amazed this doesn’t happen a few times every day, people seem to have forgotten how to use roundabouts in Thanet, it really isn’t hard.
