Witness appeal after woman tries to rob man at a Margate bus stop

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a report of a woman attempting to rob a man in Margate.

The incident took place at around 2.30pm on Sunday (January 8).

It was reported that a man was waiting at the bus stop in Churchfields Place near St John’s Road when he was approached by a woman who threatened him and demanded his phone and money.

The victim refused and when he boarded a bus, the offender was seen to leave the area on foot.

The suspect was described as a white woman in her twenties, approximately 5 ft 7 ins tall. She wore dark clothing, had a black scarf across her face and was also believed to be carrying a knife.
