This year's event includes the amazing 'art gallery' flat in Ramsgate where artist Carl Stafford lives and works

More than 230 artists in 100 homes, studios and galleries will be taking part in this year’s East Kent Open Houses event.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the trails across Thanet, Canterbury, Deal, Faversham and Herne Bay, all with free entry and an opportunity to speak with the artists or their representatives.

Creatives from all avenues are taking part, including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, jewellery, furniture design, glass, printmakers and much more, with something to delight and excite everyone.

The venues include the Royal Road, Ramsgate, flat of artist Carl Stafford who has turned his home into a full blown ‘art gallery’ with an amazing mural ceiling, hundreds of pieces of framed art and an ocean-themed kitchen complete with porthole ‘windows.’

The trail gives people a personal insight into how artists work within their specialised fields. It provides visitors a wealth of work to see and information about its makers, to pave the way for making contacts and discovering opportunities for anyone interested in taking up new fields of creativity.

Red Moon

The trail is an invitation to visit artists in their homes, studios and galleries, to speak to them in person about their work and to find out what is happening creatively in the area. With many of the works also for sale, it is an opportunity to buy direct from the artist.
