More than 100 exhibitors for the Autumn Broadstairs Food Festival

Broadstairs Food Festival

The Broadstairs Food Festival returns this Autumn on the town’s Victoria Gardens and promenade.

Food and drink enthusiasts and festival lovers can look forward to more than 100 exhibitors including produce, Kent wine and spirits and kitchenalia; hot food stalls and a bar and cider house, at the event from September 30 to October 2.

In the the drive to reduce waste on site, the festival has launched a colourful, limited edition, pint cup to offer alongside the deposit scheme for recycleable drinkware at the main bar. A small donation secures your very own piece of festival history.

There is also a prize draw which helps to fund free access to the event.

Event director Jo Scott said: ”The festival is managed as a not-for-profit community interest company and to reflect that ethos, we offer as much free access as we are able, raising funds through much appreciated business sponsorship and prize draws.”

This year’s prize draw offers lucky winners either £500 voucher for kitchen knives with Flint and Flame kitchen knives of choice,  or a two night stay at The Royal Albion Hotel, courtesy of Shepherd Neame. With only 1,000 tickets for each prize, the odds are good!

The exciting return of the Kitchen Theatre has been made possible through the joint sponsorship of Miles and Barr and Chapel House Estate,  a new and prestigious venue for events and weddings, in Minster.

Jo said: “I am really delighted with this year’s eclectic blend in the Kitchen Theatre, there’s literally something for everyone this year.”

Highlights include Clive Barlow, Master of Wine and chefs’ demonstrations from Chapel House Estate, Stark and Buoy & Oyster. Talks and tastings include How to Forage, container gardening and undoubtedly a very popular Children’s Cookery Corner on Sunday, making vegan sushi.

Many of the the sessions are free to enter, as is the main arena. Funds raised through ticket sales wil be used to further develop the children’s activities in 2023. Donations towards these can be given through the website.

The festival runs from 10am-6pm on the Friday and Saturday and 10am to 5pm on the Sunday.
