Warning issued after spate of vehicle theft and break-ins across Thanet

Police advise keeping your vehicle secure

Motorists are being urged to be vigilant following a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.

Police officers say there has been an increase in thefts from vehicles across the isle.

Recent incidents include:

Van broken into at Dane Hill, Margate overnight on September 8-9th.  Approximately £1500 worth of tools were taken.

Theft of a vehicle from Westfield Road, Birchington, on September 9th between 1pm and 9.45pm.

In Elm Grove, Ramsgate, a Motorini moped that had been stolen from Athelstan Road, Margate, was found abandoned.

In Salisbury Avenue, Broadstairs, a white Peugeot 208 was stolen at around 3:30am. A neighbour’s CCTV shows three boys getting inside the vehicle and driving off.

In Watchester Avenue, Ramsgate, overnight on September 10-11th a blue Mini  parked on the driveway was stolen. There was an ANPR (automatic number plate reader) hit from the vehicle in Northdown Road, Cliftonville today (September 12).

At Staner Court, Manston Road, Ramsgate on September 10th at 11pm, two youths with torches were seen wheeling off a black moped. Index not known.
