Photos and video: The Red Arrows over Thanet

Some lucky residents managed to catch a glimpse of the  Red Arrows as they made their way over the coast today (May 27),

The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, is the aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Scampton.

The team was formed in late 1964 as an all-RAF team, replacing a number of unofficial teams that had been sponsored by RAF commands.

The team had been in the City of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and flew back to the base at RAF Scampton today, passing over Thanet at 11.18am.

RAF Scampton is due to close later this year and the Red Arrows will relocate to RAF Waddington.

  1. Can I just say on behalf of some people.

Ban the the reds arrows save the plant live a boring arty life lolol

    Sorry couldnt help myself

  2. You are right this is a luxury we can not afford anymore .. it’s only the environment who loses ..

  3. Sir David Attenborough said ..told the BBC it would be “really catastrophic” if richer nations failed to support poorer ones, and time was running out. “Every day that goes by in which we don’t do something about it is a day wasted,” he said. “If we don’t act now, it’ll be too late.”Nov 2, 2021…. I guess he is the same as me in your opinion ? … save the thanet … 🙂

  4. Frank

That was said by David Attenborough someone who has spent his life flying around the world !!

Think about that. He wants me to save the world as he flies around the world being well paid to do so.

Us minions can make a very very small difference. But if you want to live like a hermit than that’s up to you.

You better stop reading now Frank !!!

Cant wait for the return of the isle of man TT’s this week

    • Confused us minions are millions we are the ones doing the pollution… if we all change just a little bit it will help change a lot .. save the thanet ! .. one dat the TT races will be with electric bikes.. 😀 .. perfecto

  5. Can someone tell me what is the point of the Red Arrows? Its time this nonsense was closed down, to my mind all they are doing is polluting our air, and promoting war!

    • The red arrows show everyone what is really great about Britain

Subprime flying skills, brings enjoyment to millions of people.

It seems the save the planet want us all to live boring mundane lifes. That’s not how I want to spend my only one at life like that.

I do my bit but I still want to enjoy life.

      • What is really great about britian us we have the chance to show the rest of the world we are serious about climate change .. we are serious in banning the sale of electric and diesel cars .. converting then into hybrid or then electric vehicles.. with electric producing zero emmitions .. this is what’s great about britian .. we CAN save the thanet / planet! …imagine a britian with zero emmitions …

  6. I wonder if Frank knows about the dozens of coal fired powerstations currently being built in China? Perhaps they are for electric car charging. He might want to look up lithium mining around the world to make the batteries. Driving my evil little diesel car to the shops occasionally seems to pale into insignificance when compared to heavy industries like these.

    • Gooey I agree with your point you are trying to make .. ban all vehicles .. that would be better than all electric vehicles.. I’m pleased you want to save the thanet ..

  7. What would you ban next? My point is, I am not going to scrap my car or motorcycles when there is no viable alternative. Electric powered vehicles are a stop-gap. Hydrogen should be the way forward but the infrastructure isn’t there yet.

    • I would ban ALL petrol / diesel cars that are not used for a work or transport purpose immediately.. then invest in public transport (electric) and put the price of flights soo high no one could afford them forcing more investment in trains .. I’d make sure everyone in the world had assdes to fresh clean drinking water.. ( that eiykd be my genie wish ) ..

      • Frank

“I would ban ALL petrol / diesel cars that are not used for a work or transport purpose immediately.. then invest in public transport”.

If a car isnt used for work or transport. It’s not being used at all !!. My car is used for work or transport !!

Seriously wont the sensible way to be invest in public transport first than ban cars ?

So that’s my life outside of work knackered than. No point working if you cant enjoy your free time

  8. I am shocked about the insults allowed in the thread. ‘Tosseratti’, ‘bastard’, etc…

I understand this works well for the website, but its a really state of affairs.

    • It really doesn’t work well for the website, it is frustrating to have to keep deleting things

      • Kathy Bailes ‘doesn’t work well for the website’? No it doesn’t but to be quite honest with some of the comments you have had on your website and allowed including vile comments about Craig McKinlay and the PM and for the record I have little time for either shows your double standards! Anyhow you can block me if you want because the truth always hurts!

    • They were aiming it at me I didn’t comment as they don’t understand the crisis the climate is in .. but with education and hard facts they will come round I’m sure .. I’m pleased they were deleted as not good reading for others … it’s like if I don’t agree with you I must swear at you! ..

    • Mark Francois ? Surely not the member of parliament for Rayleigh & Wickford? No thought not just another leftist snowflake who like dishing it out but cries foul if some one says something like Txxxxxsti unless it against someone they deem on the right of politics whom they dislike!

      • Hey Koeveoet, maybe your thick skull has difficulty with more than 1 person having similar sounding names, but that still gives you no right to, once again, insult anyone (snowflake- I am a proud left wing voter and worker, and not a Gammonatti like you)- is that better?

Why dropping the same dog-eared issues on every interaction?

        • Hit a nerve have I ? Sanctimonious and patronising come to mind with your comments Marc ? Mark Francois?

          • Thick as submarine door, no doubt. On and on you go like the good old gammon you are. Dont forget the factor 50 this weekend, its going to be sunny and you would not want to look like your hero Edward Leigh…

    • Maybe a filter could be used in the comments section that eliminates having to keep watch all the time. Or, maybe even a report button attached!

There are some regular unpleasantries by a few who have a lot to say about something they have firm beliefs on, but you can scroll past them. The bickering can be a bit comical though, when they are being polite.

  9. Showing yourself well and truly now Mr Francois! YAWN. Obviously the time you posted this as a good gammon I was in bed asleep.

    • Yes, as I was on my night shift duty break. Doesnt make you less thick, though, does it. You are still gammon through and through. Lacking any sense, and too thick to realise. Tying your shoelaces without help must be the peak of your day. Oh well, I better leave you so you can post some more comments in support of our RSP’s MPs. Have a lovely day.

  10. I’m having a lovely day! Just reading your insults makes me laugh. You certainly take life and yourself so seriously. Gammon, snowflake etc etc. lighten up and chill.

  11. Your gammon head cant remember you were, in fact, the one talking about ‘snowflakes’. As noted, thick as Fabricant’s wig…

  12. What a boring individual you are. I suggest with your continual obsession with gammon you need to seek some help. Gammon and eggs all round!
