Police called to ‘intoxicated’ man with ‘knife’ in Cliftonville

A man has been taken to hospital after police were called to an incident in Cliftonville today (September 5).

Kent Police was called to Sandhurst Place, by Aldi, at 12.25pm to a report of threatening behaviour involving a man who appeared to be intoxicated and holding a knife.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 12.25pm to a report of threatening behaviour involving a man who appeared to be in an intoxicated state at a location in Sandhurst Place.

“The man was also said to have also been holding what appeared to be a knife. Police attended and located the suspect a short distance away. He was detained and has been taken to hospital.”

  1. An full open disclosure from the police on the activities in Sandhurst Place over the relatively few years its existed would make very interesting reading.

    • Anyone arrested who is believed to be , or appears to be, under the influence of substances has to be checked out by A&E before taken to custody cells.

  2. But they don’t get put into cells, they’re either just dumped onto hospitals, or,with nowhere to go, taken to a safe area such as supermarket carparks or playgrounds at night, repeated drunken behaviour should end with being sectioned and put into an addiction centre
