  1. How did a 4 year old come to be in the notorious for speeding Northdown Road? All good wishes to get well very soon to the toddler and a shocked driver. Some take less care with a precious child than the majority of dog walkers do, sorry but it’s true and as the driver or biker always gets blamed I hope someone can help with dash am footage etc.but Thanet lethargy and dislike of police in Cliftonville being rife, I will not hold my breath!

    • Kids are well known getting away from their parents quickly-it has happened to the majority of parents at some point & it only takes a second for them to run out into the road. Anyway, I thought that Cliftonville was plastered with CCTV if you believe the signs-or is that just dummy cameras for show?

  2. There is CCTV either side of where this happened on Northdown Road. The police and council need to start reviewing the footage.
There were temporary traffic lights in use just past here and I’ve seen vehicles speed up when the lights are on green and many still shoot through on the red lights also so I am not surprised an incident like this happened with speed. It’s long over due that the police did speeding checks here once more. The driving standards in this road has dropped substantially since the police stopped checking motorists. And the amount of motorcycles and mopeds being used illegally on this road without number plates on is ridiculous. These users are then unidentifiable when involved in an accident.

I hope the toddler gets better soon, such a big shock for all who witnessed what happened.
