Four fire engines at Birchington field blaze

Four fire engines are currently at the scene of a field fire in Birchington.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the field fire near Shottendane Road/Woodchurch Road at 5.45pm.

Crews are using hose reel jets to tackle the blaze. Residents living or working nearby are being advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke.

UPDATE: Fire crews put out the blaze and finished at the scene at 7.10pm.
