Get ready for Ramsgate carnival

Ramsgate carnival takes place this Sunday, (July 28) with family fun on Government Acre from 10am to 6pm today and tomorrow.

The floats will assemble on Royal Esplanade at the Westcliff ready to leave at 4pm and parade through the town.

The route is the same as last year, starting at Royal Esplanade and travelling through Paragon, Royal and Harbour Parade, Plains of Waterloo, King and Queen Streets, Westcliff Road, Grange Road and back to Royal Esplanade.

Prizes will be awarded in a number of categories including best dressed pedestrian group, best youth group, best commercial float and more.

Family fun on Government Acre includes fairground rides, entertainment, dog show today (Saturday), music and stalls.

  1. People everywhere are behaving like animals leaving carcasses of food drink and general litter in their wake.tjis can be seen not only at Thanet’s lovely beaches but inland as well. Dumping unwanted clothes mattresses etc anywhere they can..it’s a complete disgrace and needs dealing with. We are becoming a filthy country and are an embarrassment to visitors from abroad and the lack of pride we have for our very beautiful countryside and beaches. So very sad…nothing nice to look at anymore.we need government to react and councils in dealing out very heavy fines for this animal behaviour.
