A Southern Water team has been called to deal with a burst main in Margate.

The burst is in Millmead Road and was first reported at 5am.

A Southern Water incident report says: “We are aware of a burst in CT9 3QN, Millmead Road, Margate. Our team is on the way to investigate and make the necessary repairs.

“Sometimes repairs take longer than we’d like, as we need to complete numerous checks and tests. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience.”

The team is due on site later today.

Resident and mum Abbie Small said the flooding was “the worst (she) has ever seen it,” adding that the area in Lyminge Way was so deep she couldn’t even see the kerb (pictured above).

The incident follows a ‘major burst’ in Broadstairs yesterday (June 8) where properties, gardens and Rumfields Road were flooded. Southern Water workmen were on the scene all day until past 11pm repairing the problem and have returned today (June 9).
