Broken down car causes A299 queues

Jams on the A299 at Ramsgate this morning (January 25) were the result of a broken down car.

Police were called at 11.30am to the vehicle on the  Hengist Way near the Sevenscore roundabout. The patrols remained with the vehicle until it was removed at 12.37pm.

The road is now clear.

  1. I was caught in those queues, travelling both ways about an hour apart. Can I be forgiven for mistakenly assuming it was more preparation for Brexit? Good practice for the Brexit queues, I suppose, as all the lorries coming off Manston for Dover will be trailing down that road. We might as well get used to it. No hard border in Ireland!!? There’s going to be a miserable hard border in Kent!!

    • Think the nearby roadworks are actually Brexit preparation and I don’t suppose that helped today’s jam one bit!
