Three Go Mad In Margate

Now until December 19, Pie Factory Margate, 5 Broad Street, Margate

Open 10.30am to 5pm (19 December 10.30am to noon)

Three well established artists come together, each polar apart in style and content, Andrew Robertson uses symbolism in which he explores religion from an atheist standpoint. David Ridgway explores the disenfranchised through colour, line and texture, Lee Nicholls paintings are colourful and whimsical images often inspired by life at the seaside. An exhibition that is full of colour and challenging imagery throughout.

St George’s Church Christmas tree festival

Crafty Poppies, the RNLI, Western Undercliff Regeneration Group and more have been busy decorating their trees for the festival.

Adornments include crochet poppies and lollies amongst more traditional themes. The festival at the church, in Church Hill, runs from now until December 16 and is open 2pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 5pm n Saturday and noon to 5pm on Sunday.

All donations are in aid of the St George’s restoration appeal.

Wicked Productions performs Jack & the Beanstalk at the Theatre Royal, Margate

Join Jack on the adventure of a lifetime as this grounded dreamer is forced to swap his bovine best friend for a seemingly useless bag of beans, which soon turn out to be decidedly more magical than your average can of Heinz! Things really hot up for poor Jack when he has to climb into the sky and face the evil giant lurking above.

Back by popular demand, cheeky comic Jez-O returns  for his fourth spectacular year.

With the stunning scenery, costumes, music, choreography, magic and fun you’ve come to expect from Wicked Productions, this year the aim is to delight with a show-stopping giant, beanstalk, toe-tapping songs and special effects.

Jack and the Beanstalk is on stage from December 8-January 2, various performances.

Sleeping Beauty at Westgate Pavilion

Red Falcon Theatre will perform the panto on December 8 at 7.30pm and December 9 at 1,30pm and 6.30pm.

Fragile Utopia

Now until February 28, Hantverk & Found, 18 King Street, Margate

Lily Mixe exhibits Fragile Utopia, a looking glass into the overlooked, strange and beautiful elements of the natural world. Inspired by the precarious relationship humans have with the creatures, materials and forces that share this precious ecosystem.
The artworks include drawings and paintings, sculpture, a new print release and a site specific installation in the basement gallery space at Hantverk and Found.

The Ramsgate Northern Lights Laser Show

December 8-16, town and harbour, lights show 4pm-10pm

Working with Definitive Special Projects Ltd, the ‘Aurora Borealis’ will visit Ramsgate for nine nights where a laser display will be shown across the harbour!

On Saturday (December 8) there will be a shooting star lantern parade to mark the start of the installation (​Harbour Street, up Albion Hill, along Albion Place, down Madeira Walk and into Harbour Parade)

On Sunday, December 16 there will be ‘A Winter Wassail’ at East Cliff bandstand which will include Carols by Candlelight, mulled cider and apple juice with Christmas biscuits.

Cantate Chamber Choir – Christmas Concert

Thanet-based choral ensemble Cantate Chamber Choir are bringing a programme of Christmas music as a fundraiser at St Augustine’s.
