There will be no Frosted Fairground but Dreamland is set to announce new Christmas events

Dreamland

Dreamland bosses say the park will be open for events over Christmas after concerns were raised that the site would be completely closed until Easter.

The Frosted Fairground event which took place last year, is not being repeated this year but bosses say there will be “a different offering.”

Rides and the main park are closed until next Easter but there is a programme of music and family events, including a step inside snow globe, due to be announced soon.

A spokesman said: “Dreamland is inviting visitors to ‘step inside’ this festive period as it transforms its indoor spaces to create an undercover Christmas experience with festive fun for all the family.

“While this marks a change from the ‘Frosted Fairground’ theme of previous years and the main park and rides will be closed to the public until 2019, there will be a host of exciting Christmas activities for all ages to enjoy, from a unique Dreamland Festive Shop and very special guest appearances, to a ‘step inside’ snow globe, festive entertainment and music events.

“We will shortly be announcing our full exciting Christmas line up so look out for more details.”

Events already announced include a Big Fish Little Fish festive rave on December 16 from 2pm to 4pm in the Hall By The Sea.

Tickets from £8.50 and booking fee in advance. Babes in arms / pre-walkers go free.

The event is suitable for ages 0 – 8 years.

There will also be the park’s first New Year’s Eve party with a Pendulum DJ set running from 9.30pm to 2am.

Tickets start from £30 (plus booking fee) via dreamland.co.uk.
