Revolution beginner Skate and Scoot

February 11th, 12th,14th,16th,18th from 11am to 1pm

These lessons are a great way of getting your little one started on either a skateboard or a scooter.

A 2 hour lesson is £10 with a free half time drink.

Full equipment hire is £5,  includes skateboard/scooter, helmet, knee and elbow pads.

Animal Adventures at Quex

 February 13 – 16

Animal Adventures sessions are 11am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm in Gallery 6

This February be the first to bring your animal pictures to life in our new story area. Explore different habitats, find hidden animals and create animal actors for your own adventure. This is an activity for the whole family to get involved with.

Children: £4. Child members: £3.50. Adults: Free.

The activity cost does not include admission to the museum and gardens.

Westgate pancake race

The annual pancake race will be take place in Westgate.

Competitors will flip their pancakes in the dash along Station Road on Shrove Tuesday, which falls on February 13.

Supporters can cheer on the teams at the non-profit event as pancakes are flipped by runners on the closed road.

The event is free and, weather permitting, will take place at 10am with race heats running until 11am.  The event is expected to finish by 11.15am with roads re-opening at noon.

Simple Simon In The Last Magic Dragon

It’s half term and time for another adventure with children’s favourite entertainer; Simple Simon.

This time Simon and his pet cat Tommy have a very important task; to get to and find the very last magic dragon before the evil wizard CALIBAN does! He needs the dragon’s magic to control all the good magic in the world to turn it to evil!

Hornby Visitor Centre

Ramsgate Road, Margate,

February 12-14, 11am to 1pm

Canvas paint days at the visitor centre. Try your hand at a design using Humbrol paints on a canvas board. Enter your finished masterpiece into the competition to be in with the chance of winning a 3 month family pass (for up to 6 people) to the Hornby Visitor Centre and to have your artwork diplayed at the centre for everyone to see! Canvas painting is £2.50 each. Judging will take place on Friday 16th February.

Children’s Showtime 2018

February 15-17

Margate Winter Gardens. Thursday – Saturday at 7:30pm plus Saturday at 2.30pm

A spectacular variety show with a cast of over 140 local children from ages 3 years to 18 years.
Hundreds of wonderful costumes, and professional standard production, together with many very talented children provide great entertainment for all the family no matter what age.
This year will feature fabulous “Glitz and Glamour” from Musical Theatre including “42nd Street”; “Mary Poppins”; Disney’s Moana”; “American in Paris”; “School of Rock”; and many more.
“Children’s Showtime” has been a very popular variety show over the last 40 years and attracts audiences from afar.

Geek gaming festival

Get ready for Jedis’ Space Invaders and more at GEEK

February 16-18 at Dreamland

The GEEK gaming festival at Dreamland will include lightsabre sessions with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace actor Andrew Lawden.

Mr Lawden will be bringing The Jedi Fight Academy to GEEK and will teach lightsaber skills and much more.

Back for a second year and taking over the entire undercover areas of the park, GEEK 2018 will be transforming Dreamland with a space theme as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original Space Invaders.

The festival will also commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of Super Smash Brothers Brawl on the Nintendo Wii with a grand franchise tournament, a day dedicated to Minecraft will see a cave for build-battles.

The family-friendly event will be bigger than ever as it showcases technology, creativity and fun at the iconic Dreamland site. It will present a behind-the-scenes look at gaming with a plethora of entertainment on offer.

Featured games will include old favourites spanning generations to virtual reality experiences, all amongst the entertainment park’s very own vintage arcade and pinball machines.

The popular Cosplay Masquerade will return and those looking to put their gaming skills to the test can take part in tournaments in Street Fighter V, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, Halo 4 and many more.
