This is what’s planned for Dreamland’s opening day

Vintage Trouble will be performing at Dreamland

A Los Angeles band that has supported The Rolling Stones and The Who will kick-start a year of live music at Dreamland on the amusement park’s open day.

The park reopens the gates on May 26 from 5pm until late.

Visitors can enjoy the restored vintage rides, art installations, a mighty music line-up, street food and eclectic bars while band Vintage Trouble launch the Scenic Stage with their rhythm and blues.

Families, funsters, mates and mini-breakers can make the most of the long bank holiday with a weekend of free live music and pop up entertainment.

The park will be open throughout the half term; with family favourites FUN DMC and their daytime hip-hop block party for kids and parents at the Scenic Stage on Monday 29 May.

With stage shows, Mermaid and Pirate School, and Teddy and Betty Land – a brand new area with rides and entertainment for the little ones – kids will have endless fun all week.

Steven Mitchell, CEO at Dreamland Margate, said: Our opening weekend celebrations are a sign of things to come at Dreamland. We have curated a new age of seaside culture and are presenting something truly unique in Britain today, all while embracing our rich history. We’re incredibly excited to relaunch the park and are sure it will have a lasting effect on local people and businesses. There’s a great future ahead.

Sip on oversized cocktails whilst watching the 1920s Coney Island-inspired Scenic Railway at The Slide Bar, or climb your way to the  Tree Top Bar to enjoy a glass of wine and listen to DJ sets.

Dreamland’s large contemporary dining area, The Friendliest Food Court Ever, will deliver bold and simple flavours, all in front of the new live stage.

Visitors can also have a go at the retro roller disco and diner, see the boardwalk that shows off new views of the park and the antique menagerie cages, circus acts and the arcades.
