8 Thanet events to keep you entertained this weekend

Classic car show at Crampton Tower Museum

Thank Friday it’s the weekend again. And, as ever, there are a heap of things to do on the isle.

We have put together this list of events to help you decide what to do with those precious days off

Saturday (April 22)

South east artists in Margate

Eleven artists from Deal and surrounding area come together to exhibit an exciting collection of new work including fine art, ceramics, textiles, collage and print, paint and stitch at Pie Factory, Margate.

The public are invited to join artists for a preview and afternoon tea on Saturday from 2pm.  All works are for sale and daily entrance is free.

Pie Factory Margate is at 5b Broad Street. Opening hours 10am to 5pm.

 A Game Of Golf

21 April – 23 April

Performances of ‘A Game of Golf ‘ are on 21st April 7.30pm, 22nd April 2.30pm and 7.30pm and 23rd April 6.30pm

Directed by Michael Friend and staged at the Sarah Thorne Theatre in Broadstairs.

Sunday (April 23)

Thanet Classics Car Club show

Classic cars will be on show at Crampton Tower in Broadstairs.

The event runs from 10am to 3pm.

Entry is free

Easy Sunday: No worries/wrap and weave

Inspired by the bright colours and culture of South American artist Ximena Garrido-Lecca learn about the Shaman Legend of the Worry Dolls and create your own wrapped up Worry-Person (or animal!) using fabric, threads and recycled materials.

Tickets available from the shop on the day

£3.50 per child

Free for adults, under 3s and CT9 residents (proof of address required)

1pm – 4pm…  drop-in session at Turner Contemporary, Margate.

Looping the Loop

Looping the Loop launches its festival of physical theatre, live music, comedy, immersive theatre, magical outdoor events and free activities across Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs.

Events run until May 1.

The launch will be held at Ramsgate Music Hall with a mash-up of live action, performance, spoken word and music.
