Fire crews were called out to a yacht ablaze at Ramsgate harbour this evening (November 7).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the yacht moored in the outer harbour at 5.17pm.

Three fire engines and the fire launch were sent to the scene, and on arrival crews found a large amount of smoke coming from the 12 metre vessel.

The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets and the fire launch boat. There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the blaze is believed to have been an electrical fault in the engine of the yacht.

Crews finished at the scene at 6.40pm.
